Virunga Ecotours connect visitors and local communities to enhance the undestructive sharing of cultural values and life experiences. Virunga Ecotours is an expert in sustainable tourism, the concept of visiting a place as a tourist and ensuring to make only positive impacts on the environment, society, and economy.
Virunga Ecotours acknowledge conservation as a prerequisite for sustainable tourism and economic development. Gorillas’ tracking is undeniably a highly treasured unique experience that attracts many tourists in the Virunga Massif. It has been an overwhelming conservation and economical success for Rwanda, Uganda and – in a lesser degree – the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Besides the Gorilla tracking our key values can be found in proposing tours that are cross-cultural exchange and community services, travel through villages for various voluntary projects, adventure and outdoor education etc…
Virunga Ecotours is an independent company, always pleased to offer good, tailor-made packages in Rwanda and surrounding East African countries. We like to adapt our programs to what you want and design safari and other tours to match your wishes and your budget with an absolute commitment to quality.
We – Aline Ange Nyiramugisha and Francis of Assisi N. Ngabo – have set up Virunga Ecotours as a tour operator company originating in the Virunga Programs Initiative activities since 2017 for local communities in the 3 countries around the Virunga Massif. Virunga Programs Initiative connects sustainable tourism, environmental conservation and community programs around Virunga Chains, Kahuzi-Biega National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through initiating viable projects within the entire Virunga massif that would improve socio-economic status.
