Day 1: Butare + the Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast you will depart for Nyungwe National Park which takes about 6½ hrs. drive, visiting en-route the famous National Museum at Butare and the ancient King´s Palace at Nyanza to learn about the Rwandan culture and history. Have lunch in Butare and thereafter continue to Nyungwe national park arriving for dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking + Nature Walk

Take an early morning breakfast then with your packed lunch drive to the park for the starting point of your chimpanzee trek. The species of chimpanzee in Rwanda Nyungwe Park is the Pan Troglodyte (Common Chimpanzee). The population is an endangered one, there are only some 90 of them in Nyungwe Park. Later depart for your nature walk and picnic lunch at Kamiranzovu waterfall, a true feast of the senses for the nature lover. Return for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Canopy Walk + return to Kigali

After breakfast we head again to the National Park with your packed lunch, then go for the canopy walk which sets 50 meters above the ground with a 150-meter walkway and is the first of its kind in East Africa. It allows visitors to see the forest from above the trees and be at eye level with birds and monkeys that inhabit the upper story’s of the forest. Later return for lunch and drive off to Kigali for drop off.
