Our program is to support the students and researchers who want study primate ecology, demography and social organization. You will find yourself spending one hour or more searching and learn about several endangered species of primates such as Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Colobus, Golden Monkeys, and Baboons. The forests like Nyungwe, Akagera , Volcanoes, Parks are the homes to many wonderful birds, primates, large mammals, reptiles, insects and varieties of plants and to ensure continued water and medicinal plant resources for the local communities. In addition, we promote the students to explore varieties of flora and fauna in the jungle while making their research. Throughout the field tour in education the students will deeply make observations on primate and ecosystem conservation. This program deals mainly with Schools and High Institutions Learning Worldwide. This field tour in education takes eleven or more days in Rwanda destination like Akagera National Park,Nyungwe National Park and Volcanoes National Park.
Full Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Kigali International Airport and meet your professional guide. Drive to Discover Rwanda. After lunch, do City tour .After that walk and do shopping then back to the Hotel
Day 2
Destination:
Akagera National Park, Accommodation: Discover Rwanda: Meals: F/B, Breakfast,
Lunch and Dinner, Activity: Game viewing. Spend the morning game viewing
Baboons. Drive from Kigali to Akagera national park in the North East of the
country. In this Savannah park you can see elephants, leopards, giraffes,
lakes, buffaloes, Statungas, Hippos, Water birds. After the game drive, you
will drive back to Kigali.
Day 3
Destination:
Southern Province Nyungwe National Park, Accommodation: Peace Guest House,
Meals: F/B, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Activity: Visit traditional site.
Early in the morning, drive to Butare in Southern Province, visit the King’s
Palace at Nyanza and then continue to the National cultural museum in Butare.
After lunch to Ibis Hotel, drive through Nyungwe forest to Peace Guest House.
At the museum you can see Rwandans monarchs’ years back, traditional dance and
drumming
Day 4
Destination: Nyungwe National Park, Accommodation: Peace Guest House: Meals: F/B, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Activity: Trekking. Drive to Nyungwe forest and start primate walk and track Chimpanzees. Nyungwe is the National park in Africa which is oldest mountain forest. This park is the home of 13 species of primates, more than three hundred species of birds(Great BlueTouraco) and over two hundred species of flowers(Orchids).
Day 5
Destination:
Karongi, Accommodation: Betania Hotel: Meals: F/B, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner,
Activity: Visit Napoleon Island(Bats home range). Early morning, drive to
Kibuye on the shores of the Lake Kivu. See the beauty of Lake Kivu and its
Islands and see Sundowners on its shores at sun set and visit Napoleon Islands
and watch here several species of bats.
Day 6
Destination:
Rubavu, Accommodation: Kivu View Apartment, Meals: F/B, Breakfast, Lunch and
Dinner, Activity: Relax. After an early arrive at Gisenyi at mid-day have a
short stop at Kivu Sun Hotel, then inspect around Hotels and have a walk to the
Rwanda- Congo border.
Day 7
Destination:
Volcanoes National Park, Accommodation: Classic htel, Meals: F/B, Breakfast, Lunch
and Dinner, Activity: Gorilla trekking. Early morning, drive to Kinigi
headquarters to the Volcanoes National Park for mountain gorillas trekking.
Day 8
Destination:
Volcanoes National Park, Accommodation: Classic hotel. Meals: F/B,Breakfast,
Lunch and Dinner, Activity: Dian Fossey site. Visit Dian Fossey’s grave the
former of Karisoke Research Center and she is the first primatologist &
scientist Lady who studied and protected the last Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda
in 1967 until 1985.
Day 9
Destination:
Kigali. Activity: Transfer. After lunch drive to Kigali International Airport
for your flight out
