Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali to Bukavu and Transfer to Kahuzi-Biega

Begin early with a border crossing into DR Congo, followed by a scenic drive to Bukavu town, surrounded by hills and Lake Kivu’s serene waters. After settling into your lodge, take time to relax or explore Bukavu’s local markets and culture. Enjoy a delicious dinner as you prepare for the wildlife adventures ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park

Rise before dawn for a comprehensive briefing, then venture deep into the dense rainforest with expert trackers. Spend up to one hour observing the eastern lowland gorillas, a rare and gentle species rarely seen outside Congo. Capture incredible photos and absorb the power of this untouched wilderness. After trekking, relax with a late lunch, then embark on an optional afternoon game drive or birdwatching session to spot buffalo, monkeys, and diverse avian species.

Day 3: Morning Nature Walk and Return to Kigali
