Virunga Ecotours Launches Trails of Tomorrow — Shaping the Future of Tourism
VIRUNGA ECOTOURS – EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH TOUR GUIDING
In 2024, Virunga Ecotours launched a groundbreaking Female Tour Guide Training and Internship Program in collaboration with Red Rocks Academy. This initiative was created to break down the social and economic barriers that have historically limited women’s participation in Uganda’s tourism industry.
Women Empowerment
Empowering women in Kisoro, Uganda through sustainable farming, business training, savings groups, girls’ education, and support for single mothers building stronger families and healthier ecosystems.
Environmental Health
Improving health and sustainability by promoting clean water, sanitation, waste management, and eco-friendly practices in Rwanda.
Forest Restoration
In Congo, we support reforestation, climate resilience, and wildlife coexistence helping communities protect nature and live sustainably.
Conservation Real Talk Sitting Room – Virunga Ecotours Office
The Conservation Real Talk Sitting Room at Virunga Ecotours is designed as an interactive platform where ideas, experiences, and real-life challenges surrounding the Virunga Massif come to life. Unlike a lecture or a presentation, this is a participatory dialogue that welcomes 3 to 40 guests, whether travelers, students, or schools, both in-person and online via Zoom.
From Soil to Table

The From Soil to Table program invites guests to journey alongside local families, uncovering how community-based tourism empowers households to share their knowledge, culture, and hospitality.
